CentralWorld is no longer only a world-class food destination as it has turned Groove Gallery Walk into an interactive art gallery and a photo landmark, presenting contemporary artwork by well-known Thai artists until the end of this year.

"Fika Maison" is the first exhibition being held to highlight the shopping mall as a world-class art and food destination by Pichthaya "Nass" Osotcharoenphon, a product designer and founder of the Nussdaydream brand.

She portrays the concept through creative and colourful shapes and lines of food, vegetables, fruits and animals, in addition to the catchy food-related expressions such as "I Love You Cherry Much" and "You're So Grape".

The exhibition is presented in an augmented reality form that combines digital technology to convey the experience of boundless creative ideas.

According to Nass-Pichthaya, "Fika" is a Swedish term meaning "a moment to pause and think slowly to realise and appreciate the good things around us". Her artwork features food, vegetables, fruits, animals and positive messages that are meant to remind viewers not to be too busy to appreciate the things surrounding them.

She has combined her drawings with traditional engraving and used today's digital media to turn them into beautiful digital paintings. The cutting-edge technology of AR is included in the artwork, enabling viewers to see an image in motion that becomes virtual reality, bringing ordinary paintings to life.

Visitors can view the interactive artworks through their iOS or Android smartphones, using a mobile app called "Artivive" (free download). The exhibition is running at the Groove Gallery Walk on the 3rd floor until Oct 30 and also in an art tower format on the 7th floor, Atrium Zone, until Dec 31.

Besides the fun art, a number of special promotions such as discounts on beverages and snacks are offered at many shops. Expect to see artwork by Sundae Kids in the next exhibition in November.
