Sala Sudasiri Sobha is hosting a piano recital by Pinnaree Yontararak Kurzydło, a board certified music therapist based in Bangkok, on Sunday at 4pm.

Pinnaree Yontararak Kurzydło.

The youngest daughter of Steinway artist, pianist and composer Nat Yontararak, Pinnaree will be performing a repertoire of Haydn's Sonata In C Major; Schubert's Impromptu No.3; Chopin's Ballade No.2; and Ravel's Sonatine.

Growing up in a musical family and having been around music all her life, Pinnaree started learning piano with her father at the age of five. She has been performing since she was seven but her musical journey turned more serious when she was 14.

As music continues to be a crucial part in her life, her interest expanded towards how she can use music to help others. She became interested in music therapy and went on to complete a master's degree in music therapy in the UK where she continued to study piano with Philip Fowke.

Pinnaree is now one of the very few music therapists working in mental health in Thailand. She's not only using music to help others but also teaching young people to feel music through their playing.

Tickets cost 800 baht (400 baht for students) and can be purchased from salasudasirisobha.com. Sala Sudasiri Sobha is on Lat Phrao 41, Lane 7-2.
