New York City's vibes are captured in Bronx Colors, a Swiss beauty brand based in the contrasting quiet community of Hünenberg in the Canton of Zug.

The colourful range, nonetheless, speaks for itself on how the Swiss can produce edgy yet affordable make-up inspired by The Bronx's multicultural melting pot.

The "urban cosmetics" is now available in almost 30 countries, including Thailand, where Bronx Colors counters recently opened at Paragon department store and The Mall Bangkapi's Beauty Playground.

The selection of eyeshadows include bright single and baked marbled shades, the latter named after planets, and a variety of palettes such as Burlesque in two colour harmonies, and Touch the Skyline with packaging inspired by the Big Apple's skyline.

For lips, the best-selling Matte Lip Tint is highly-pigmented to give rich colours ranging from pale beige to dark mauve. The bold colours stand out against a smooth skin created with the Studioline complexion products, which include a foundation developed specifically to meet the advanced technology of high-definition camera in the film and TV industry.

Bronx Colors brushes have been designed with magnetic ends so that they can be fixed on an accompanying plate. Other playful items include the felt-tip eyeliner with a tattoo stamp for defining the eyes as well as embossing a star, heart or woman gender symbol on the face or body.

The feminine sign replaces the "o" in the Bronx logo but that doesn't mean that the Swiss brand caters only to women. Eye brightener, mattifying make-up base and translucent pressed powder have specifically been created for urban men concerned about dark circles and oily skin.
