Hidden away amid the towering office buildings of Phloenchit, Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort transports you to the seaside with its tropical vibe and what-seems-like an untamed wilderness setting.

The entrance greets you with a light-filled hall by the pool, where all-day dining restaurant Tamarind is housed. The fit-out features natural tone materials in contemporary design, which create a soft and fresh space. It tides in with the menu that uses organic ingredients.

As the resort's name suggests, they keep things light and healthy by serving dishes with a big hit of greens from their à la carte menu down to afternoon tea. Before placing your orders, health fanatics can check out food facts that accompany each dish on the menu, providing nutritional benefits to match your needs.

I would recommend their afternoon tea, which the restaurant runs from 2-5pm at B1,200 for two people. Why? Because their selection of homemade pastries is well thought out, with the intention to nourish you rather than stuff you to the brim. An afternoon tea you can indulge in with less guilt, if you will.

The almond-apple tart is delicious and made from wholemeal flour; while the chocolate cupcakes have been enriched with beetroot and natural maple syrup. As for savoury bites, I really dug the green rice paper rolls, chicken pomelo slaw tarts and thinly-shaved cucumber on soft rye bread with tender crab meat. For those who are traditionalists, you can find pleasure in their classic orange scones, served with homemade jam and clotted cream.

If that does not meet your requirement for green, check out the juice list, starting at B140.

From the à la carte menu, you can also try the Baked wild salmon (B570) encrusted in a gluten-free herb crumb with mashed peas and herb remoulade or the healthy twist on the Club sandwich (B320), made using sous-vide, organic, free-range chicken with cashew mayonnaise and beetroot toast. The delicious sweet potato fries, which come as a side with many dishes, had been thrown into an air-fryer, using a minuscule amount of oil, instead of being deep-fried.

In a city where high-rise buildings fill every nook and cranny, there are few places I go for a leisurely nibble on a good slice of chocolate cake, sipping a cup of tea, while wrapping myself in a cocoon of lushness. This place happens to be one of them.
