All-day dining at Sundance Lounge

The sunny side of life

Sundance Lounge at Seenspace is not really the new kid on the block, having undergone a few transformations. Though the latest looks like it will stay a while.

A cosy brunch spot, which gives off very LA vibes, Sundance Lounge not only serves an all-day dining menu, it does dinner, as well. Dinner being heavily influenced by French cuisine. To avoid using the dreaded term "fusion", I am going with how the lounge describes the dinner menu -- "where French and Asian cuisine have merged in meticulous detail".

Keeping in theme with the brunch menu, which is seasonal, the dinner menu has dishes like Australian beef tataki (B450), which is premium grade beef topped with wasabi tuile. Colourful flowers form part of the visual feast. The Foie gras crêpes (B750), a popular dish on the brunch menu has made it to dinner! A delicious savoury and sweet combo.

The Seared French duck breast (B460) is slowly cooked to render the duck fat perfectly and is served with the chef's unique pineapple gastrique. For salmon lovers, do try the Seared Tasmanian salmon (B450) cooked with housemade tomato sauce, which mimics the classic Bloody Mary cocktail.

There are few places that do the Pacific classic and Sundance Lounge is one of them. The Pavlova (B320) is a gooey dessert filled with vanilla mousse topped with passion fruit sauce and fresh berries.

But in case you're Cinderella and need to be home by 5pm, Sundance also does a few scrumptious dishes for brunch or lunch.

If you're a morning person, you can "Build Your Own Breakfast" by putting bits and bobs together. Add bread, organic eggs, a cheese plate, some protein and greens. Who knew this could be this much fun! Prices range from B60 to B190 for each ingredient. Do get the Avocado, chilli oil and toasted almonds (B160).

I love beets, so I opted for the Roasted beetroot salad (B260), which comes with greens, beetroot purée, a balsamic vinaigrette and honeycomb. In this pleasant climate, a Lobster and leek bisque (B650) is always a good idea, especially with the lashings of paprika oil.

A hot favourite is the Smoked salmon on sourdough toast (B320), served with a boiled egg, dill cream, sliced cucumber and radish. Though I am more of a Roasted beef on brioche toast (B540) kinda gal. The housemade roasted beef is served with melted Gruyère, garlic aioli, in-house sundried tomatoes and rocket.

There are plenty of options to satisfy your sweet tooth with, including pastries. The coffee bar is managed by specialty coffee brand Brave Roasters and if you're into astrology, then the Tarot Tea selection is for you! If you're a bit of a shopper, good concept store Un-Formed is also housed within the lounge.
