The Larn Muang 2 on the ground floor of SookSiam at Iconsiam has been transformed into a free market space as part of the "Siam Ruam Jai, Thais Help Thais Fight Covid Together" campaign, which is running until July 21.

Held with the support from all sectors to alleviate the impact of Covid-19 on retail entrepreneurs and merchants in the Klong San and Thon Buri communities, the campaign allows them to bring food, beverage and products for sale at the venue, free of rent.

Visitors can indulge in many famous recipes known in the Thon Buri district of Bangkok such as boiled dumplings, Chinese buns, crispy pork, pork crackling with chilli paste, and Chinese porridge toppings including Chinese black olive, spicy pickled cabbage and stir-fried Chinese olives with minced pork.

Besides snacks such as banana chips, taro chips, krue po (fish chips), rice crackers and miang kham -- a traditional bite-size snack -- there is also corn juice and fruit juice (using ya wan or stevia as substitute for sugar) and organic jackfruits.

Also expect to see toys from the old days, wicker works, handmade products, traditional Thai house models, ceramic ware, ceramic dolls and Thai herbal massage oil.

Visitors are also encouraged to follow strict safety and hygiene measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
