A nod to the classics

Remember when TV dinners were all the rage in the 50s, when television was first invented? No? Neither do we. But here we are on the couch every evening and ready for TV dinners a la 2021!

Though TV dinners are traditionally frozen meals of meat and two veg that are ready in a matter of microwaved minutes, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok is bringing them to you fresh and warm. Though a whizz in the microwave or oven won't hurt anyone.

Inspired by the classic Swanson TV Dinners of the past, Kimpton's are a choice of four dishes: Cheesy enchiladas, Fried chicken, Salisbury steak and Beef stroganoff (B275). The Fried chicken is a good portion of fried chicken that comes with mashed potatoes and peas. The classic Salisbury steak, which originated in the US and is a version of the Hamburg steak, is a mixture of ground beef and spices served with brown sauce, mashed potatoes and peas. Another classic on offer is the Beef stroganoff, a Russian dish which gained popularity in the 19th century. The beef is served in a sour cream gravy with mushrooms along with pasta and peas. The Cheesy enchiladas is the only veggie dish on the TV dinner menu. A good accompaniment to whatever being streamed on your screens at home.

For dessert, choose from seven flavours of brownies -- Oat raisin, Red velvet cream cheese, Soft peanut butter, Nutella-stuffed, Lemon nutter, Coconut caramel and M&M -- and other choices of cookies.

If none of these catches your fancy, there's the combo deal of pizza and salad with two choices of each for B1,300. Ms. Jigger's signature salad of fresh burrata or black truffles to go with the all-time favourite margherita pizza or the premium 24-month aged Parma ham pizza.

Other dishes from Ms. Jigger's a la carte menus are also available via Lineman, Grab and Robinhood, or order directly Line @kimptonmaalaibkk. Call 02-056-9999 or email taste.kimptonmaalai@ihg.com. Visit bit.ly/PRKimptonEN.
