The Ronald McDonald House Charities Thailand (RMHC) invites enthusiastic runners and interested members of the public to join the "RMHC Virtual Run For Kids 2021" to help raise funds for child patients and their families.

The virtual run is accepting applications until Dec 10 and as in the previous year, all contestants are allowed to manage their runs at their convenience, either outside or on a treadmill, alone or with friends and family.

There are two distances to choose from -- 5km and 10km. Runners can record their distance using any mobile phone application, smartwatch or tracking device and submit the results by Dec 15. The application fee for the 5km category is 500 baht which includes a souvenir T-shirt, an E-Bib, and one set of McDonald's vouchers worth 500 baht. The fee for the 10km category is also 500 baht including a souvenir shirt, an E-Bib, and two sets of McDonald's vouchers worth 1,000 baht. Upon submission of the results, all runners will also receive a commemorative medal and an e-certificate.

Those who wish to support this charitable project without joining the run are encouraged to make a donation of 400 baht and they will receive a commemorative T-shirt and one set of McDonald's vouchers worth 500 baht.

All proceeds from the virtual run will go to support the health and well-being of child patients and their families through three charity programmes under RMHC. They include Ronald McDonald House that provides temporary accommodations for 6,000 people a year; Ronald McDonald Dental Care Unit which offers dental health services to over 7,000 underprivileged children a year; and Ronald McDonald Playroom which serves over 340,000 children and families a year.
