Since national lottery results are announced on the 1st and 16th of each month, these two days become days of hope for Thai people. On those days, some players are so excited to know the winning numbers they cannot focus on their jobs.

Highlighting the lottery's influence on society, Museum Siam presents the "Random Lucky Story" exhibition which showcases connections between lotteries, players and their hopes. The exhibition spotlights four parties -- the lottery organiser, the distributors, the vendors and the players.

Curator of Museum Siam Worakan Wongsuwan has been researching for the exhibition since 2017. It took him almost two years to develop content for the exhibition and he hopes visitors will learn more about society from the past to the present through the lottery.

Lottery games were introduced to Thailand by Chinese immigrants during the reign of Rama III. Worakan said that today, the Government Lottery Office state enterprise contributes the most revenue to the government.

Worakan chose the "Dream Room" section as a highlight. He said the section shows that lottery players often link their dreams to winning lottery numbers. Another highlight is an interesting interview with the lottery winner Thanawan Sakulchuea. In one year, Thanawan won the jackpot 17 out of 24 times.

Her interview video is also available on Museum Siam YouTube Channel and has gained lots attentions from viewers.

"Random Lucky Story" runs at Museum Siam, MRT Sanam Chai Station, until Feb 27. Admission is free. Visit facebook.com/museumsiamfan for more information.
