Chloé stops to smell the flowers

Perfumers have their favourite flowers and four joined Chloé in composing new vegan Eaux de Parfum.

The 100% natural origin fragrances contain ethically sourced ingredients, naturally-derived alcohol and water while the lower-impact packaging meets the maison's sustainable goal. Reducing environmental impact is a priority for Chloé's creations, from fashion to fragrance collections.

100% natural origin Narcissus Poeticus, Iris and Ylang Cananga.

The new Eau de Parfum Naturelle is a modern woody rose by Michel Almairac, who mixed notes of roses grown on an organic farm in Bulgaria with essences of citron and neroli produced on sustainable plantations in Morocco and Italy.

The essential rose and neroli form a velvety bouquet that exalts the freshness of the citron and blackcurrant buds. Sunny mimosa absolute renders a sensuous floral spirit against cedar base notes.

The three other perfumes, Narcissus Poeticus, Iris and Ylang Cananga, come under the Chloé Atelier des Fleurs collection.

The noses drew on their olfactory memories to interprete narcissus, iris and ylang-ylang, with the notes obtained from sustainably-cultivated flowers from France, Morocco and Madagascar.

Philippine Courtière created the fresh and slightly-powdery Narcissus Poeticus, following memories of her childhood in Paris. The little Philippine and her grandmother would stroll along the paths of the Jardin du Luxembourg and gather little bouquets of the delicately, honey-scented flower.

Steve Guo discovered the complexity of the iris scent amidst Morocco's Atlas Mountains, where the Sun-worshipping plant dots the slopes and highlands with its blue-violet hue. For several months, its roots are dried in large jute bags, releasing soft, captivating emanations that inspired Guo's Iris composition.

Serge de Oliveira remembers the ylang-ylang fields on the Madagascar island Nosy Be. In a cheerful family atmosphere, flower gatherers move so precisely, lithely and rhythmically that they seem to be dancing when hand-picking the ylang-ylang. The perfumer also remembers the scent, recreated as the sensuous, smooth and sunny Ylang Cananga.

Each perfume in the Chloé Atelier des Fleurs collection can be worn on its own or combined for a signature scent.
