Four of Thailand's very finest classical musicians will join the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra during "An Italian Journey", which will take place in the Main Hall of Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Friday at 7.30pm.
RBSO concertmaster Bing Han, assistant principal cellist Panyaphat Wongwechwiwat, principal oboist Nuttha Kuankajorn and principal bassoonist Thanawat Ngosawang will collaborate as a quartet of soloists in Haydn's Sinfonia Concertante In B-Flat Major.
Directed by resident conductor Vanich Potavanich, the concert will begin with the Donna Diana overture by brilliant Viennese composer Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek, and conclude with Mendelssohn's ever-popular Symphony No.4 In A Major – The Italian.
Nuttha Kuankajorn. RBSO
A graduate of the Beijing Conservatory of Music, Chinese violinist Bing Han won a place at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest when she was only 17 and rounded off her training at Maastricht University in Holland with a master's. She has served as concertmaster of the RBSO since a rigorous audition process in 2017, performing with top distinction in this role.
Panyaphat Wongwechwiwat. RBSO
Panyaphat studied music at the famous Purcell School in London and became the first Thai musician to graduate as a bachelor of music from the Juilliard School in New York. He has performed in numerous renowned concert venues and has enjoyed the privilege of working with A-list conductors. Rising star Nuttha was awarded a full scholarship for her bachelor's from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (National University of Singapore) and subsequently studied oboe performance at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany.
Thanawat Ngosawang. RBSO
Thanawat, meanwhile, is a music graduate of Chulalongkorn University who has performed far and wide with the National Symphony Orchestra of Thailand, the Thai Youth Orchestra, the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra, the Asian Youth Orchestra, and the International Summer Academy music camp Vienna in 2016.
