Those travelling to Singapore can experience an immersive sightseeing tour as Marina Bay is illuminated with a series of striking light installations for the annual i Light Singapore festival, which runs until June 25.
It's a collaboration between the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and DBS Bank to create a fun visual playground that stretches from the Bay to South Beach and Millenia Walk so that people of all ages can share their imaginations together.
This year, it is designed around the concept of "A New Wave" and makes use of the blue hue from the visible light spectrum to reflect on the natural environment and elicit feelings of relaxation and tranquillity while promoting sustainable living.
"We look forward to enlivening Marina Bay once again with the return of i Light Singapore. This year, visitors can immerse themselves in a brand-new line-up of creative artworks. At the same time, I encourage everyone to take a pause to contemplate our relationship with the environment. Through their experiences with the delightful artworks and programmes, we hope that visitors can be inspired to embrace sustainability as part and parcel of our everyday lives," said Lim Eng Hwee, CEO of URA.

This year's artist roster includes eminent local artists, well-known international names and aspiring student designers, motivated by the colour blue and utilising cutting-edge technology to produce compelling artworks.
At Marina Bay Sands, Refik Anadol, a well-known Turkish-American media artist, presents his large-scale projection Glacier Dreams on the ArtScience Museum's façade. The projection creates multi-sensory narratives based on artificial intelligence using visual data from the world's glaciers to raise awareness of increasing sea levels and climate change.
Clifford Square is brought to life by Amigo & Amigo's 6m-tall Trumpet Flowers sculpture, which celebrates the beauty of nature and is synchronised with a distinctive sound and light show. The Block Party is an interactive installation by the Singaporean collective Plug & Play that turns the city's well-known public housing facades into a dance floor when people move around. The work serves as a pleasant reminder of how we may shape our surroundings and environment via funny interactions.
Another highlight is Lightwave: Turning The Tide, a new interactive light experience created by The Promontory and presented by Alibaba Cloud. Visitors can travel to a future when humanity has been drowned in the aquatic realm due to increasing sea levels.
The i Light Singapore 2023 festival is open daily from 7.30pm to 11pm with extended hours to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free. For more details, visit ilightsingapore.gov.sg.
