At Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, ABar Rooftop places a firm focus on all things gin —there are at least 20 different bottles behind the bar to have your perfect gin and tonic prepared the way you like it.

But it's not just G&Ts. The gin-centric bar has shaken things up by introducing a new series of signature cocktails, dubbed the "District Of Bangkok". Through the namesake menu, each sip of these 12 ingredient-forward drinks creates an extraordinary fusion of flavours and narratives, bringing to life the distinct characters of Bangkok's eight most historic districts. They are Yaowarat, Phra Nakhon, Bang Rak, Phra Khanong, Pathumwan, Chatuchak, Bang Kra Chao and Bang Lam Phu.

True to its destination-inspired concept, the menu booklet has been thoughtfully designed to unfold like a pop-up map. Arrival (B400) makes a good start with a fizzy sensation filled with fruity flavours from passion fruit and grapefruit. Adorned with butterfly origami, the cocktail pays homage to the historic Hua Lamphong Station in Pathumwan.

Taking cues from the famous Rajadamnern Stadium of Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Muay Thai Smash (B420) packs a punch of spice-infused rum with a kick of spiciness for an aftertaste. It's purposefully served in a beer can, evoking a ringside experience where the crowd cheers and holds a beer while watching the fight.

In the name of love, the Phra Khanong cocktail (B420) weaves the iconic horror/romantic folklore Mae Nak Phra Khanong into its evocative and meaningful presentation. Its translucent colour symbolises Mae Nak's tears, while the jelly, infused with red wine and raspberry, represents her everlasting love.

ABar Rooftop is open daily from 5pm-1am, featuring DJ sets on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Call 02-059-5999 or email restaurantreservations.bkkqp@marriotthotels.com.
