According to Japanese folklore, kitsune possess paranormal abilities such as shapeshifting. The mythical fox is portrayed in a calm meditative posture on the bottle of festive Facial Treatment Essence following a collaboration between SK-II and Maison Kitsuné.

Located at the EmQuartier's A Space, SK-II x Maison Kitsuné Charge Up Your Beauty Pop-Up is gearing up for the holiday season with the limited edition.

The frosted glass bottle has been the subject of various collaborations, including those with artists, Disney's Mickey Mouse and White Rabbit candy.

The SK-II x Maison Kitsuné Limited Edition Facial Treatment Essence differs in a vibrant red or blue bottle.

Surrounded by cherry blossoms and fruits, the fox opens its eye on the red bottle representing the day. The blue bottle differs with closed peepers and a star motif evoking night-time.

The latest collab brings two brands with a Japanese heritage.

Founded in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, Kitsuné is a multifaceted Paris-meets-Tokyo brand that operates a fashion house, a music label and Café Kitsuné.

A symbol of versatility, its emblematic logo has shifted its appearance in previous collaborations before becoming the Yoga Fox on the bottles of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, also called Pitera Essence.

SK-II launched the bestseller in December 1980. Its research and development in the 1970s was inspired by observation of how wrinkled sake brewers had soft and youthful hands, which were in constant contact with the fermentation process.

It took years of research to isolate Pitera, a naturally-derived skincare ingredient crafted from a proprietary yeast fermentation process.

Rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids, Pitera mimics the skin's Natural Moisturizing Factors, which restore and enhance skin translucency, softness and smoothness.

For over 40 years, Facial Treatment Essence remains unchanged with more than 90% Pitera to help transform the skin.

Until Sunday, the pop-up offers a skin analysis via the Magic Scan, which assesses the current condition and recommends a personalised beauty regimen with SK-II skincare products -- all of which feature Pitera as a signature ingredient.

SK-II and Maison Kitsuné encourages people to recharge and reveal their best skin and unique style in 2024.
