The Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will perform orchestral renditions of famous anime music, at Thailand Cultural Centre's Main Hall, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Jan 25 and 26 at 7.30pm.

A collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and B.Grimm Group, the "Music Of Anime" concert is an opportunity to experience orchestral versions of popular anime music, from renowned works featured in iconic Ghibli films such as One Summer's Day (Spirited Away), Kiki's Delivery Service, Kimi Wo Nosete (Laputa), and My Neighbour Totoro Orchestra Series.

They will be played alongside other popular anime works from franchises like Space Battleship Yamato, One Piece, Naruto Shippuden, Demon Slayer and Attack On Titan.

Anime and its accompanying music are constantly gaining international popularity. Unlike most Western pop songs, anime music consists of long, dramatic melodies combined with rapidly shifting chord progressions. This unique nature allows you to experience the music's orchestral versions.

At the forefront of anime music is Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi, known for over 100 film scores and solo albums dating back to 1981. He has received numerous awards and his work with Studio Ghibli is famed for its enchanting melodies that contribute to the allure of their films.

Leading the concert will be Tokyo-born conductor Naohisa Furusawa, who conducted Beethoven's 9th Symphony with Tokyo's MAX Philharmonic Orchestra eight times. He is currently the principal conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).

Tickets cost 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 baht. Tickets for the Jan 25 show are available from Thai Ticket Major outlets (visit thaiticketmajor.com or call 02-262-3456) but the concert on Jan 26 is sold out.
