Over 1,000 research projects and inventions from Thai and international researchers feature at "Thailand's Inventors' Day" from today until Feb 6, daily from 9am to 5pm. The venue is Bitec Hall 100-102, Bang Na-Trat Road.

Organised by the National Research Council of Thailand as a tribute to the remarkable achievement of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great -- also the Father of Thai Invention -- for inventing the low-speed surface aerator, this year's theme is "Invention And Innovation, Pioneering Progress".

Expect to witness an amazing array of innovations ready for implementation and production in various fields, namely agriculture, medicine, quality of life and ageing society. Among notable inventions are a pilot-scale mobile prototype for essential oil extraction from Thai fragrant flowers using compressed subcritical fluid technology by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and "Arm Booster", an upper limb bilateral training device with a symmetrical transmission force mechanism for stroke patients by Thammasat University, Rangsit Center.

Besides a showcase of inventions from more than 30 international organisations, there is a zone dedicated for creations by students from the "Thailand New Gen Inventors Award 2024 (I-New Gen Award 2024)" and the "International Intellectual Property, Invention, And Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2024)".

A must-visit zone is the "Innovation Goodies Marketplace", which offers a diverse range of products. They include a probiotic drink collection featuring pineapple juice kefir and coconut water kefir by Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University and a silk washing product made from natural extract by Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon.

Other highlights include "The Survival Game" corner featuring a natural disaster simulation game allowing visitors to learn to escape and stay safe during a tsunami and "Fruit Fun Fair", which introduces research products made from golden Nam Dok Mai mango, irradiated pomelo, and fresh-cut durian.

The five-day event is also packed with seminars and workshops covering more than 100 topics, as well as occupational training.

There is no admission fee. Visit inventorsday.nrct.go.th.
