Elle (Thailand) made yet another wave in Thailand's beauty industry by hosting the Elle International Beauty Awards 2015, on Feb 5.

The awards recognised the best beauty products of the year, voted by Elle beauty editors.

The afternoon tea event was held at The Bamboo Bar, Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, bringing together representatives of 14 brands.

Fifteen products were given awards this year, but one item is not yet available in Thailand and was therefore not represented.

The Elle International Beauty Awards began in 2013, when Elle surveyed 30,000 women worldwide to find their most-loved beauty products.

This year, Elle beauty editors from 45 countries, including Thailand's Nuttika Ongsirimemongkol, voted on the awards.

"Elle (Thailand) has undergone a lot of changes over recent years. This year we feel ready to become a beauty authority and therefore decided to organise this event.

"It truly represents what women around the world like," said Panu Sombatyanuchit, Elle (Thailand)'s editor-in-chief.

Awards were given in six categories — make-up, face care, body care, haircare, innovation and fragrance. The results are featured in February issues of Elle magazines worldwide.

Lancome, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Christian Dior received awards for make-up. In the face care category, Vichy, La Prairie and La Mer took home prizes. Shiseido, Clarins and Sisley received awards in the body care category. Haircare winners included L'Oreal Paris, Bumble & Bumble and Kerastase. The sole winner in the fragrance category was Narciso Rodriguez. The innovation prize went to Shiseido.
