Dazzling dining sensations and lavish offers of libations are on the menu as Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers hosts a scintillating riverside countdown soireé and gastro-party on the banks of the legendary Chao Phraya River.

With the shimmering waters of the mighty river as a dramatic backdrop, the New Year’s Eve Masquerade Gala Dinner is a glittering end-of-the-year party and buffet under the stars at the elegant Riverside Terrace, with dancing, live music and DJ beats keeping the vibe fresh, and a front-row seat to spectacular fireworks displays at midnight.

The mesmerising epicurean odyssey is the work of Executive Chef Robert Czeschka. A native of Austria, his 28 years’ experience in the culinary arts includes The Palais Schwarzenberg Vienna, the 3 Michelin-starred Jean Bardet in France, Sheraton’s Red Sea Saudi Arabia, the Hilton Berlin and Shangri-La Hotel Beijing.

Appearing on the Carving board are Prime Rib Roast, Australian lamb leg, Baked Virginia Ham and Baked Salmon wrapped in a delicate Puff Pastry, while just- grilled options include superb quality Australian Angus, Tenderloin, Rib eye beef and Rack of Lamb.

And speaking of seafood, terraces of iced River Prawns, Tiger Prawns, Rock Lobster, Salmon, Snapper, Snow Fish and Marinated Seafood Skewers are just waiting to be caught.

There’s also a, in-curd-able selection of fine imported cheeses - varieties like  Tomino, Gorgonzola, Pouligny St Pierre and Chaource are there, as are Taleggio, Brie, Boursin and Munster among them-along with classic cheese accompaniments of nuts, crispbread, dried fruits and fine charcuterie.

Cooked-to-order Foie Gras with Mango Chutney is also on the meu, along with fabulous Pasta and sauce pairings by the hotel’s renowned Italian eatery Giorgio’s.

The impressively diverse spread also includes a vast assortment of salads, sides, and assorted bites along with Chinese, Indian, Japanese and of course, Thai cuisines - all expertly and authentically prepared and presented.

The abundance of sweets features cut fruits, Mango sticky rice, Chocolate fountain and assorted macaroons, plus individual-serve highlights Sherry Trifle, Tiramisu, Vanilla Crème Brule and Thai crispy “tacos” with coconut cream and assorted fillings.

But unlike the Cinderella syndrome, the food and fun doesn’t end with the stroke of midnight: There’s sumptuous New Year’s Day BBQ Buffet Brunch, with a huge spread of international and flame-cooked delights to get your 2018 off to a deliciously satisfying start.
