Artiwara Kongmalai and his Kao Kon La Kao (everyone takes a step) campaign are giving adoring fans - and anyone else who wants to help a worthy cause - until Thursday to bid on four pairs of running shoes Toon has worn so far on his marathon charity run.

The pairs were named by Toon himself, and track his progress since he first set off from Betong district in Yala on Nov 1.

The first pair, "Southernmost", is an apt monicker for the footwear that kick-started his journey in the southernmost district of the country.

The second pair, "Keep Going", is named for the constant refrain he heard from well-wishers cheering him along the way in the three southernmost provinces.

"Brave the Rain", the third pair, recalls Toon's battle with the elements from Songkhla to Nakhon Sri Thammarat.

The fourth pair, "Phi Toon Recovers", takes its name from something he overheard a boy saying after he resumed his run from Nakhon Sri Thammarat to Surat Thani after a slight injury.

Each pair is *signed by the celebrity rocker, and was listed with a base price of 999 baht.

As of 4pm on Sunday, bidding for the "Southernmost" pair was heading north at 1,111,111 baht,  "Keep Going" had gone up to 600,000 baht, "Brave the Rain" had streamed past 510,000 baht and "Phi Toon Recovers" was gaining momentum at 500,000 baht.

Bidding will close at 10pm on Thursday and the winners will be announced on Friday.

The proceeds from the shoes will go to the campaign to help 11 public hospitals.

Toon achieved his goal to raise 700 million baht for the cash-strapped hospitals on Saturday when he reached Chai Nat, 1,510 kilometres into the epic run.

He has 681 km to go, with a plan to arrive in Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai on Dec 25. It will be a very special present for the public hospitals.
