Chelsea FC youth team arrive in Bangkok

The Chelsea FC youth team arrived in Bangkok yesterday for the first stop of their pre-season tour of Asia.

Chelsea’s youth players, from left, Ambrose Gnahore, Jonathan Muleba, Fankaty Dabo, Jesse Starkey and Reece Mitchelle arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport yesterday.

The team will have an open training session this morning at Leo Stadium and will help launch the Chelsea FC Soccer School Thailand at Super Kick tomorrow. On Saturday evening, they will play a friendly match at Leo Stadium against the Leo All Stars, a selection of U-19 players from leading Thai clubs. Entry is free.

Singha Corporation is organising a contest for TV commercial for Manchester United and Chelsea.

The creator of a one-minute clip will receive an all-inclusive trip to watch Man U and Chelsea games in England. The runner-up will get 100,000 baht and the third prize is 50,000 baht.

Chevrolet backs Liverpool

In Detroit, Chevrolet announced yesterday that it has signed a four-year contract to become Liverpool's official automotive partner.

Chevrolet vice president Chris Perry said: "Liverpool supporters from around the world are known for their undying love of their side. Our relationship with Liverpool FC extends beyond the traditional boundaries of sponsorship and is about engaging with supporters."

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said: "Much like our club, Chevrolet has a long, rich history and this landmark partnership once again demonstrates the value of Liverpool's international appeal."
