Those gifted putters from other planets

I didn't know that Cameron Smith held the PGA Tour's joint 18-putt record.

Take a step back and imagine in your next round against your friends, what your score would be if you just had 18 putts?

I do think that good putters come out of the womb holding a putter.

Bob Charles, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Watson, Ben Crenshaw, Brad Faxon and Lee Trevino were eerily like Smith and who I've had the good fortune to witness putt hole after hole.

Other mere mortals have to practise hour upon hour to become better than average but sadly others just have that bloody annoying trait of making the process of getting the ball in the hole look so easy.

These other golfing visitors from other planets can make their playing partners look incompetent and pathetic.

We've all played these mysterious golfers who hole from everywhere time and time again and how hard is it to resist that temptation of whacking them over the head with their putter!

Hold onto your hats over the next few weeks, as many egos go head to head over the LIV-PGA Tour soap opera. Who plays where and for what, now heads down the fourth hole.

"How To Repair Broken Bridges" will be the main theme of more than a few discussions going on right now behind locked doors.

Out of Bounds: "Stop and Smell the Roses" is not what you should say to someone who has just four putted from 20 feet.
