The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) yesterday announced the 23-member national team for the Fifa Women's World Cup Qualification Inter Confederation play-offs in New Zealand in February next year.
The association also confirmed yesterday that the squad will tour Australia for training and friendly matches from Nov 8-16 as part of their preparations for the play-offs.
The play-offs will determine the last three qualifiers for the 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup finals to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Thailand were drawn in Group A with Cameroon and Portugal for the play-offs, which will take place from Feb 18-23 and also serve as a dress rehearsal for the country to co-host the finals from July 20-Aug 20 next year.
The Chaba Kaew will play their first match of the play-offs against Cameroon on Feb 18 with the winners of the match taking on Portugal. The winners of the three-nation play-offs will qualify for the Women's World Cup finals.
Meanwhile, the FAT also announced the list of 75 provisional players for the men's national team.
They will be considered for selection for the country's AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup team.
The final squad will have only 23 players. The War Elephants will be defending their crown at the Asean championship in December.
