ONE Championship™ (ONE) produced another epic evening of martial arts action at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium with ONE Fight Night 9: Nong-O vs Haggerty. The event was headlined by a battle for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

ONE Championship, in partnership with leading premium lifestyle and luxury performance brand TUMI, presented the prestigious ONE World Title belt to the World Champion.

In the main event, Jonathan Haggerty scored a stunning upset over Nong-O Hama to capture the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

From the opening bell, Haggerty came out aggressively, hammering Nong-O with hard combinations that forced the Thai legend on his back foot. Nong-O tried his best to fend off the Englishman, but Haggerty was too quick and too sharp.

After a furious exchange, Haggerty dropped Nong-O with a straight right, sending shockwaves throughout the stadium. The Thai legend beat the 10-count, but “The General” sent him crashing to the canvas again with another explosive combination. Sensing victory, Haggerty went for Nong-O’s head and connected with the fight-ending overhand right at the 2:40 mark to capture ONE Championship gold.

In a battle between unbeaten lightweight stars, #4-ranked contender Halil Amir edged out promotional newcomer Maurice Abevi. Amir started off strong, leaning on his speed and precision to bombard Abevi with heavy artillery. However, Abevi refused to back down from Amir’s overwhelming offense. Both men had their moments in the grappling department, but it was Amir who scored major points by nearly completing a Suloev stretch. Despite their best efforts to finish, the bout went the distance, and Amir was awarded the unanimous decision.

Second-ranked strawweight contender Bokang Masunyane prevailed over #3-ranked Hiroba Minowa behind a comprehensive performance. From the opening bell, “Little Giant” wasted no time in bringing his Japanese counterpart to the ground with his wrestling. Masunyane continued to take Minowa down at will in the succeeding rounds, tallying points with his superior grappling skills. After nearly 15 minutes of dominance, Masunyane walked away with the unanimous decision.

In a stunning display of heart and determination, former ONE World Title challenger Felipe Lobo pulled off a come-from-behind victory over #1-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender Saemapetch Fairtex. After knocking down Lobo in the second round, Saemapetch went into cruise control and caused trouble with his lightning-fast combinations. But Lobo found a reserve of strength during the third round to put himself back in the contest. The fight-ending sequence came when Lobo landed a series of left hooks, punctuated by a devastating straight right to send a dazed Saemapetch crashing to the canvas.

Third-ranked women’s atomweight contender Denice Zamboanga showcased her striking brilliance and impeccable takedown defense to secure a massive win over Julie Mezabarba. “The Menace” established her dominance in the striking exchanges early, landing overhand rights in rapid succession to force Mezabarba on the defensive. Though the Brazilian proved her toughness by refusing to go down, Zamboanga's relentless pace and power were simply too much to overcome. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favor of Zamboanga to win by unanimous decision.

Isi Fitikefu scored his first win in ONE Championship, putting on a grappling masterclass against Valmir Da Silva. Fitikefu displayed his smothering ground game, dominating the Brazilian welterweight from the outset. He continued to pressure Da Silva until he finally secured the finish, ultimately submitting his opponent via rear-naked choke with just 45 seconds remaining in the first round.

Women’s strawweight standout Meng Bo scored an impressive victory over Brazilian rising star Dayane Cardoso. Meng utilized her pinpoint striking and submission defense to outlast her opponent in a grueling three-round battle. Despite facing a determined Cardoso, Meng’s composure and execution proved to be the difference-maker down the stretch, paving the way for the Chinese standout to claim a hard-earned unanimous decision.

Asa Ten Pow emerged victorious in an exciting Muay Thai clash with former ONE World Title challenger Han Zi Hao. Both men put on a display of heart and skill, unleashing a barrage of powerful strikes from bell to bell. Despite the punishing pace, Ten Pow stood his ground and landed a flurry of thunderous blows to earn a third-round TKO.

Kicking off the action at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Team Lakay prodigy Jhanlo Mark Sangiao continued his meteoric rise through the ranks by submitting Matias Farinelli in the first round. The Filipino phenom only needed 58 seconds to get the job done, forcing Farinelli to tap out to a wrenching kneebar.

Performance bonus winners: Jonathan Haggerty (US$100,000), Felipe Lobo (US$50,000), Isi Fitikefu (US$50,000), Jhanlo Mark Sangiao (US$50,000)
