PT Prachuap recorded their second win of the season in Thai League 1 on Friday night when they defeated fellow strugglers Chonburi 3-1 at home but the upshot failed to lift them off the foot of the table.

The Killer Wasps, who have appointed Dusit Chalermsan as an interim coach, were impressive but the Sharks once again failed to click under caretaker coach Nutthawut Vijitwetchakarn in a clash which saw both sides lose a player each to red cards.

Dusit was honest about his team's chances of surviving in the top flight after the match.

"I have taken over as the head coach at a time when it will be very difficult for me to help the club survive in Thai League 1," said Dusit.

"However, I hope the players will not give up and keep on fighting to stay in the top league. I am sure that they [the players] are all ready to do their best."

Prachuap went ahead in the sixth minute of the match through Saharat Kanyaroj before Tamer Seyam doubled their advantage at 35 minutes.

However, two minutes later, the Killer Wasps were reduced to 10 men when Prasid Jantum picked up his second yellow card warning of the night and was sent off.

The Sharks got their only goal in the first-half injury time when Channarong Promsrikaew set up Amadou Outtara.

Just three minutes into the second half, the Sharks were also left with 10 men on the pitch after Phanuphong Phonsa took a second yellow card booking.

In the 49th minute, the hosts netted their third goal when Brazilian striker Derley found the net with a spectacular shot.

Prachuap have nine points after 13 games with Chonburi just one place above them with ten points.
