Suriyanlek shows off skills ahead of big fight

Suriyanlek Por Yenying is looking sharp ahead of his blockbuster fight at ONE Lumpinee 81: Superbon v Nattawut.

The 28-year-old took part in the open workouts ahead of his 133-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest against Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi, which goes down as part of the stacked Sept 27 event at Lumpinee Stadium.

Suriyanlek showed the media in attendance that his preparations are in full swing, with his techniques looking fast and on point with less than four weeks left until fight night.

The battle-tested veteran brings plenty of momentum to the upcoming foray off the back of winning his last two fights. His most recent victory was perhaps the best yet of his eight-fight run with ONE.

Facing Pompet PK Saenchai this past June, Suriyanlek uncorked a huge right hand with just 10 seconds left in the opening round to knock out his Thai compatriot.

He has now won six fights on ONE's weekly proving ground, and he'll be hunting for more knockouts to further his case for a life-changing B3.5 million contract with the martial arts giant.

But Jaosuayai is one of the most exciting fighters to emerge on ONE Lumpinee, and the heavy-handed 22-year-old poses a real threat to Suriyanlek's ambitions. Jaosuayai holds a 4-2 record under the ONE banner, with three of his victories ending inside the distance due to punches.

Hailing from the talent-laden Sor Dechapan fight camp, he has long been earmarked as a future star in the sport. His all-out aggression and deep punching arsenal make him a dangerous proposition and a natural fit for ONE's action-packed Muay Thai rule set.

ONE Lumpinee 81 is headlined by a Muay Thai bout between ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon and multiple-time ONE world title challenger "Smokin" Jo Nattawut.

The all-Thai showdown has been seemingly inevitable as both men have been among the very best featherweight strikers on the ONE roster for a number of years. Now, they'll finally meet atop a well-stocked card of local and international talent.
