The iPad Air has always been a great mix of being an affordable yet powerful tablet. With the latest iPad Air, Apple has built on the strengths of its previous iterations. It boasts a new design and a powerful A14 Bionic chip that ensures it can work under pressure and give you great graphics when it comes to gaming. Is it worth the buy? Read on.

PROS

Nothing bad can be said about the design of the new iPad Air. After all, Apple has always excelled in making stylish and trendy designs. The latest iPad Air follows in the footsteps of the iPad Pro and now has a 10.9" all-screen design along with other new features like a Touch ID now found on the lock/unlock button at the top. The screen combined with the A14 Bionic chip means games are much more vibrant and the graphics more realistic. On the other side of things, it also means that the iPad Air is a great work companion, whether you're editing videos and graphics or maybe even something as simple as taking notes. Paired with the second-gen Apple Pencil, note-taking and graphic-making is a breeze, but you're going to have to shell out some more cash for the Apple Pencil (B4,190). You can also pair it with the Smart Keyboard Folio (B5,990) or the Magic Keyboard (B9,900). I prefer the former to the latter because the Magic Keyboard doesn't allow the iPad to be unfolded entirely and also adds weight.

CONS

I didn't really experience a lot of drawbacks from the new iPad Air. However, one of the things that I did notice was that its battery life seemed to be rather weak. I would occasionally use it to play games on Apple Arcade because I wanted to enjoy it on a large screen rather than just on an iPhone and would also use it to watch videos on YouTube or Apple TV+. But even when I just use it to scroll through my Facebook or Reddit, the battery drained quicker than I expected even if it was being used for things that aren't too strenuous power-wise.

VERDICT

The iPad Air continues to improve with its latest iteration in terms of design and software. A brand-new large screen means that it's great to play games on and binge your new Netflix addiction, but be warned: you're going to have to charge it more than you'd expect. Additional accessories for additional prices adds to the iPad Air's versatility, but the device by itself already gives you a lot of opportunity to both work and play.
