A monk has been caught watching an X-rated movie on a public bus - and a video clip of the incident has gone viral.

The clip filmed by Wittawat Wonghajuk on Saturday showed the monk watching the porn movie in his seat on a bus from Loei to Udon Thani.

"Help me share this clip. I can't stand this," Mr Wittawat wrote on his Facebook account.

More than 100,000 people have viewed the clip, and some questioned whether the person filmed was a real or fake monk.

Mr Wittawat told Thai Rath Online on Sunday that he was riding a bus that left Loei at 10am on Saturday. Shortly after the bus left the station, he wrote, he heard what sounded like a pornographic film coming from the back of the bus.

He said he moved towards the seat where the sound was coming from, planning to warn the passenger that his entertainment was audible to others. But he changed his mind, he said, after fthe passenger turned out to be a monk watching the movie on his mobile phone -- and decided to film it instead.

The monk got off the bus at the bus station in Wang Sapung district in Loei, he added.

Mr Wittawat was taking the bus to his home in Nong Bua Lamphu -- not normally such an exciting journey.
