It has become a tradition for the cabinet to introduce New Year gifts to stimulate the economy. This year, it has approved six major stimulus packages, according to Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith.
Speaking after yesterday's meeting, Mr Arkhom said the cabinet approved the packages proposed by the ministry as gifts for the public after a challenging year.
The government expects to forego 13.22 billion baht in tax revenue but recoup more than this as the measures pay dividends.
