Technicians believe a pornographic image that flashed up three times on a large screen in the House chamber during the constitution amendment debate on April 18 was uploaded from an Android phone or tablet, reports said.

House deputy secretary-general Khamphi Ditthakorn and a team of CAT Telecom technicians and parliament audio-visual staff on Monday began loooking into who was responsible for the raunchy picture of a half-naked woman appearing on the LG 65 LW 6500 65-inch plasma screen, which has a wi-fi link.

The team used an iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Tablet and other smartphones to connect to the wireless system.

The reports said the iPhone and the iPad can access the wi-fi system, but they require a password to upload a picture, even though there is an application called "LG TV Remote" to control network-enabled LG TVs.

The Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy Tablet can access the system using an "Allshare" application and they can transfer a picture in about five seconds.

LG technicians will be able to check and find the uploader's phone number, but the inspection would take a long time, the reports said.

House secretary-general Pithoon Poomhiran said there was a possibility that the lewd picture appeared on the screen without the user's knowledge.

Mr Pithoon said the Justice Ministry's Department of Special Investigation and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology will also look into the issue.

When reporters asked him whether Democrat MP for Bangkok Nat Bantadtan's smartphone will be examined, the secretary-general said he was only responsible for government employees and staff, not MPs.

Mr Nat was pictured looking at a titillating photo on his smartphone during a House meeting last Wednesday. He later told the press that his friend had tagged the photo to his social network account, which he accessed via his phone. He said his friend was "teasing" him.
