A video clip of a young film actress exposing her two-year secret relationship with a rising soap star has gone viral.
Focus Jeerakul, 21, gained notoriety for her role in the 2003 childhood love story film Fan Chan.
The actress posted a video clip online on Monday night divulging details of her two-year secret love affair with Tanin “Bomb” Manoonsilp, 24, who played the lead role in Channel 3's popular television soap opera based on the Suparbburuth Chutathep novels.
Bomb played one of the Chutathep brothers, Khun Chai Ratchanon, in the series that was aired last year.
The tearful video clip features Focus discussing her relationship with Bomb, though she does not mention him by name. She describes how she was forced to keep their relationship behind closed doors, to protect his acting career.
Entertainment journalists later found out that the young actress was referring to the soap star, who has since admitted to the romance.
Focus says in the clip that she partially disclosed information about being in a relationship in an interview on one TV programme, but Bomb reacted by implying that the two were not seeing each other.
She said she then found out that Bomb had been seeing another woman. He allegedly told the woman that he and Focus had already broken up, but that Focus’ mother had begged him to continue his relationship with her daughter.
Focus said she and Bomb's lover eventually met and spoke to each other, discovering the truth about his philandering.
The young actress added that she had also been upset by comments that Bomb made in the media, claiming that love had "dragged him down". She said she knew he was referring to her.
The clip ends with Focus saying that she is no longer interested in seeing Bomb. She urges him not to fool other women and respect all women in future relationships.
Posted on YouTube by a user known as memeaoful, the clip has attracted almost 550,000 views in one day. The clip has been shared wildly on social media and Twitter using the tag #protectingnoina. Noi Na is the name of the female lead character played by Focus in Fan Chan.
An "anti-Bomb Tanin" page was also set up on Facebook though it is yet to garner many "Likes".
After the relationship was exposed, Bomb admitted to dating Focus in an interview with entertainment reporters. He also apologised to Focus, her friends, her fans and his fans but did not confirm the status of their relationship, which he said was "complex".
According to entertainment media reports, Bomb may have been seeing up to six women at the same time.
