Arunosha Bhanupan, Managing Director, Broadcast Thai Television Co., Ltd., revealed that: “Good Thai-Japan relations have long been recognised. Besides the Lipgloss Spy series which recreates Kokura Castle scenery, prior to that the Kol Kimono series was filmed in Japan. We are always touched by the warm hospitality and facilitation of our Japanese hosts. Hopefully, this journey will affirm the attractiveness of Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki and build awareness as well as increasing numbers of Thai tourists visiting Japan.”

The winners’ journey followed a series of trails to the ancient Chofu Mori Residence which was one of the scenes in Lipgloss Spy. The winners were impressed by the local way of life depicted through tourist attractions as well as the distinctive cuisine. The glass bride, or Nakatani Hurusato, is one of Hirado City’s scenic lookouts which ranks the most beautiful highland area in Japan. Kokura Castle is another popular spot that features gastronomic dishes from Shimonoseki such as puffer fish sashimi and Kitakyushu’s crispy soft eels on rice topped with sweet sauce.

Throughout the trip, Mr. Shuei, the honourable guide, unfolded the local history, culture and heritage. His guided tour highlighted how Japanese people are attentive to detail in delivering the best for travellers.

“We would like Thai people to experience the charm of south Japan. In Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki visitors from Thailand are always most welcome,” Mr. Shuei concluded.
