B. Braun Thailand and Ramathibodi Comprehensive Cancer Centre join forces to advance cancer care in an innovative partnership.

On August 21, 2023, B. Braun (Thailand) Ltd., a world-renowned medical technology company based in Germany, inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Ramathibodi Comprehensive Cancer Centre (RCCC), Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University.

Their collaborative endeavour is aimed at developing educational programs for an ambulatory home-based chemotherapy model, which can be applied and practiced in healthcare settings to enhance the capabilities of healthcare professionals. Managing Director Mr. Sayan Roy represented B. Braun (Thailand) Ltd., while Assoc. Prof. Ekaphop Sirachainan, M.D., Chairman of RCCC, and Phichai Chansriwong, M.D., Oncologist, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, signed on behalf of RCCC. Assoc. Prof. Surasak Leela-Udomlipi, M.D., Director of Ramathibodi Hospital, delivered a warm welcome speech.

The development of professional competence in ambulatory home-based chemotherapy is a pivotal step in improving caregiving and the outcomes for cancer patients. This collaboration aims to elevate the standard guidelines for developing home-based chemotherapy models within workplaces for healthcare personnel in the Asia Pacific region. It will enhance their skills and capabilities through various training programs.

The signing of this MoA underscores B. Braun's dedication to "Sharing Expertise" through its Aesculap Academy, a leading medical education arm committed to strengthening the skills of healthcare professionals, with the ultimate goal of protecting and enhancing the health of people worldwide.

Assoc. Prof. Ekaphop Sirachainan, MD., Chairman of Ramathibodi Comprehensive Cancer Centre, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "On behalf of the Ramathibodi Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, we are delighted to collaborate with B. Braun Thailand and Aesculap Academy to develop an education program focused on ambulatory home-based chemotherapy services for healthcare personnel and nurses from various hospitals in the Asia Pacific. RCCC has been established since 2014, and we have maintained a longstanding relationship with B. Braun Thailand. This educational collaboration will expand knowledge about home-based chemotherapy treatment, address delays in chemotherapy schedules due to insufficient hospital beds, and result in cost savings. Patients undergoing

home chemotherapy will achieve outcomes on par with traditional treatment methods, saving costs and improving their quality of life. We anticipate that this education program will benefit all participants and serve as a guiding light for international practice in the future."
