Mall Group launches Cabb partnership
Cabb Taxi Asia Cab

Asia Cab has joined hands with the Mall Group to launch a taxi service at seven shopping malls in Bangkok.

Asia Cab is the manufacturer and operator of Cabb brand public taxis. The Cabb vehicle differs from other taxis due to its design that is a prototype from London taxis, with each cab painted in dark blue.

According to Asia Cab CEO Assist Prof Dr Sarayut Rueangsuwan, Cabb taxis have functions to ensure passenger safety including a security partition separating the driver and passenger areas.

An intercom system is used for the driver and passengers to communicate. Air conditioning systems also work separately. Other features include USB chargers and free wireless internet throughout.

The Cabb taxis are available at Emporium, EmQuartier and five branches of The Mall from 11am to 9pm.

The fair starts at 60 baht. Booking can be done two hours in advance at 02-026-8888.

Prachuap sees street art as a draw

The Tourism Association of Prachuap Khiri Khan (TAP) has joined hands with the Provincial Cultural Office and Hua Ban Community to a launch street art programme on Su Suek street in the city.

About 10 murals will be painted on old shophouses in the community. The first painting has been finished and will be followed by the rest soon.

TAP expects the street art to be a new attraction in the province.

Toward cleaner waterways

The test run of an electric passenger boat has been conducted recently along Klong Saen Saep.

The project is a joint venture among the Marine Department; Family Transport Company (2002), which operates the commuter boats; Kasetsart University, which built the vessel; and Beta Energy Solution, a Thai manufacturer and distributor of specialised battery cells.

The aim is to reduce noise pollution and make the commuter boat service environmentally friendly, according to the Marine Department.

The boat can accommodate up to 100 passengers and can run up to 22kph. It can travel 60km per charge.

During the test, the boat took its regular route starting from Phan Fah Lilat to Pratunam piers with 92 passengers on board. It took about 20 minutes for the 4km journey. The information will be used for a further study before launching the e-boats for public service in the future.
