Ticket To Ride by Collagecanto. VS Gallery

This month, VS Gallery presents two exhibitions by female artists -- Collagecanto (Wannaprapa Tungkasmith) and Narissara Pianwimungsa -- who work in different media.

Ticket To Ride Collagecanto

Collagecanto, or Wannaprapa Tungkasmith, works on the art of paper design and paper-cutting. In "Ticket To Ride", Wannaprapa created artistic paper cuttings from tickets she collected from bus journeys in Thailand and train journeys in Japan. With her expertise in paper cutting, Wannaprapa uses only a cutter and glue to turn regular tickets into exquisite works of art.

A Secret Garden Narissara Pianwimungsa

A painter, Narissara created her exhibition "A Secret Garden" during the Covid-19 lockdown last year. After painting for eight years, Narissara had challenged herself to work in other media such as embroidery and fabric installation. However, during the stay-at-home mandate, Narissara eventually returned to painting.

"A Secret Garden" reflects Narissara's thoughts about how people do not understand nature and cannot control it. The artist uses vivid colours to portray a garden in her imaginary world.

"Ticket To Ride" and "A Secret Garden" run at VS Gallery, Naradhiwat 22, until Feb 13. Admission is free. Visit facebook.com/VSGalleryBangkok.
