Beliefs, sacredness and the afterlife are the subject matters of "The Sacred Now", which is running at Joyman Gallery until Feb 14.

Representing the new generation, three artists -- Jennarong Kaemadan, Kespada Moonsuwan and Pathomkorn Threethep -- present their perspectives and interpretations of matters that we still ponder today.

Jennarong reflects the idea of beauty between the imaginary world and the real world through nine drawings and paintings of human and mythical animal figures in the "Himmapan" series.

His works question why there is only one stereotype of beauty for people to stick to while we are born with different physical appearances and have different lifestyles and experiences. And this is why the simple life of the lower classes is always ignored.

In his "Belief" series, Kespada shows how the beliefs of people can impact the world. His works portray the complicated problems and conflicts of humans who keep developing the power of destruction to the point where it's hard to find the root causes of problems.

Pathomkorn, meanwhile, expresses his interest in the afterlife using the theory of structuralism in different contexts from the world to space, legends, beliefs and Buddha's history to combine with the overlapping science in his paintings, installations and mixed media works.

His artworks feature portraits of influential figures such as Albert Einstein to answer questions concerning the afterlife. The composition of his paintings is influenced by movie posters, print ads and sci-fi novels of the 1980s.

Joyman Gallery is on Mahachai Road, Samranrat, and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 8.30pm.
