The role of our perception and perspective on life and the universe is the major theme of "Body Universe" which is running at HOP Photo Gallery, 3rd floor of Seacon Square, Srinakarin Road, daily from 11am to 7pm, until Jan 30.

This is a group exhibition by nine photographers from various fields who use different approaches, equipment and techniques -- from analogue to digital, light source to electron particles, and the latest technology customisation to ready-made -- to present the world they all have experienced, understood and been fascinated by.

Their subjects range from the minuscule world of insects to the vast unimaginable area of deep interstellar space. Simple elements are presented from an unusual viewpoint. Scale and proportion are distorted. Massive and minute are placed alongside each other. Things that first seem far apart are all interconnected.

The exhibition points to how we see ourselves, the world and our place in the universe. It shows that life and our surroundings can be something precious or meaningless depending on our perceptions and interpretations that guide our understanding, our life, its direction and destination.

The exhibition also reflects a common truth that we only exist for a brief moment in this universe, yet sometimes feel at the centre of it all, absorbed in our private concerns. The participating artists are Viriya Chotpanyavisut, Suparerk Karuehanon, Charnpichit Pongtongsumran, Robert Zhao Renhui, Miti Ruangkritya, Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch, Krittanun Tantraporn, Prinyakorn Voravan and Nipan Yodmanee.
