A diverse collection of artworks by prominent Thai and international artists will be exhibited during "Voyage De L'Art (The Art's Journey)" from tomorrow before going under the hammer on Feb 18 at 2pm. The venue is JWD Art Space, 3rd floor.
Presented by the Art Auction Center and De Siam, the exhibition and auction will guide art lovers and collectors to a rich experience through 122 curated pieces showcased across eight distinct zones.
These zones represent eight new lands awaiting exploration. They are "Into The Woods", "Sea's Embrace", "Above Horizon", "Volcanic Realm", "Land Of Reflection", "Limitless Imaginary", "The Occidental Glory" and "Breeze Of The East".
Among the highlight pieces are Stupa, a large-scale mixed media creation by Montien Boonma; Landlord Of The Earth, a ballpoint pen on canvas by Thawan Duchanee; a 1993 acrylic on canvas painting by Natee Utarit; a 1974 oil on canvas painting by Pratuang Emjaroen; Crybaby, a fibreglass sculpture by Molly; and Mushkin by Mr Kreme.
The lots include notable works by Muebon, Kitti Narod, Alex Face, Chuang Moolpinit, Chakrabhand Posayakrit, Suchao Sisganes, HSH Princess Marsi Sukhumbhand Paribatra, U Lun Gywe from Myanmar, Raden Basuki Abdullah from Indonesia, Galileo Chini from Italy; as well as coins designed by Silpa Bhirasri.
The exhibition will be complemented by a showcase of vintage trunks from renowned French brands Louis Vuitton and Goyard.
JWD Art Space is on Chulalongkorn Soi 16, Charat Muang Road, and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Registration for the auction on Feb 18 is from 10am to 1pm.
