Ferragamo launches new immersive site

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Headquartered in Florence, Salvatore Ferragamo has launched a new website amid the Covid-19 pandemic which has severely hit Italy.

More than ever, digital technologies are proving to be an invaluable means of bridging distance at this time of physical and social distancing.

"The coincidence of launching the new Ferragamo website in these historic times makes it even more special and the message we want to convey to our customers is one of hope and faith in the future. We have put ourselves in their shoes to create an immersive, user-friendly experience in which our online boutique is intertwined with the story of the brand's values," said Micaela le Divelec Lemmi, CEO of Ferragamo.

The company was founded by Salvatore Ferragamo in 1927 after he returned from the US where he was a celebrated shoe designer for Hollywood stars such as Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, Joan Crawford, Lilian Grish and fellow Italian Rudolph Valentino.

Life in the US also had him studying human anatomy, chemical engineering and mathematics at the University of Los Angeles.

The history of his eponymous brand is elaborated in an A to Z glossary in the newly-designed website, which aims to offer a more intuitive user experience.

The online boutique boasts a complete selection of Ferragamo products presented in high-definition images and detailed descriptions.

The company's history, brand and product news, and social content blur the lines between editorial content and e-commerce to create an all-encompassing experience designed to meet the needs of each customer.
