Iconsiam is celebrating Christmas and New Year with "Bangkok Illumination 2020", in which the mall has transformed its River Park into a captivating land with dazzling lighting and lines of illuminated Christmas trees on the bank of Chao Phraya River, until Dec 30.

The extravagant event features the first collaboration with Mike Perry, an Emmy award-winning artist, who has designed two remarkable patterns for the 20m-tall Christmas trees and floating yi peng lanterns by representing the unique characteristic of Thainess and universal aspects into one.

Featuring the theme "Celebration Of Life" for the Christmas trees and "Energy Flows" for the lanterns, the two colourful patterns are inspired by the noble decorations on the pillars of the ordination hall, or ubosot and mondop, at Buddhist temples.

Also for the first time in Thailand, the event showcases a world-class art installation titled "Infinity Forest" created by New York-based design studio Softlab, at the Napalai Terrace on the 7th floor, which has been turned into an infinite field of light at night.

The installation brings a field of mirrored chambers arranged in a forest-like atmosphere that allows visitors to see reflections of the surroundings from the Bangkok skyline and river. They will become part of the work through the reflections on the mirrors seen from different directions and angles. At night, the mirrored chambers are lit with LEDs that respond to sound, producing a continuous flow of reflection.

Other attractions are two giant illuminated humanoid figures titled Pepping Corners and What's That at the River Park. The amazing creations were produced by Australian visual artist Amanda Parer who took inspiration from the 1973 Czech/French film Fantastic Planet, a stop-motion science fiction film that depicted a world of gargantuan humanoids in the distant future.
