Since last year, Breitling has put a spotlight on women, in both its watchmaking and campaigns.

In October, the Swiss watchmaker announced its Spotlight Squad, whose members Charlize Theron, Misty Copeland and Yao Chen represent women of purpose, action and style.

Leading figures from the world of aviation, exploration, cinema and sport previously teamed up for Breitling's "Squad On A Mission" campaign.

A new regional campaign, "Chosen, Not Given", is inspired by the progressive mindset of women who take charge of their passions and are decisive leaders of change.

The campaign is fronted by supermodel Cindy Sirinya Bishop from Thailand, singer Isabella Wong from Malaysia, and wakesurfer Cassandra Tan from Singapore.

"We can make our own choices, from clothing and accessories to people we allow into our lives, to what we consume on TV or social media. We can ask questions to help us better choose and filter out things rather than just take everything in. If we think this way, we can have ownership of everything in our lives," said Bishop, who was also named the new Friend of Breitling yesterday.

Twenty-five years ago, she was crowned Miss Thailand World 1996. The beauty queen became a supermodel, actress and TV show host. In recent years, her role as a women's rights activist has raised public awareness of gender quality. Her activism is internationally recognised and last September, Bishop was appointed UN Women Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific.

Also known as Bella Kuan, Wong majored in piano and voice at the Malaysian Institute of Arts, with her speciality in opera. She is a co-founder of an indie beauty brand, Handmade Heroes, which makes natural, vegan and cruelty-free skincare products.

Tan also has her own line of cosmetics and conducts make-up courses to help women look and feel their best. The wakesurfer represents Singapore in regional competitions and is poised to continue making impressive waves in all her pursuits.

The "Chosen, Not Given'" campaign seeks to push the boundaries of what it means to be a woman of purpose, action and style through Bishop, Wong and Tan, who actively make decisions to transcend the norm.

Regarding watchmaking, Breitling has redesigned its iconic models for feminine wrists, with the Chronomat Automatic 36, Chronomat 32 and Navitimer Automatic 35 available in various versions for women to express their style.

Worn with a Rouleaux bracelet, the sporty yet elegant Chronomat symbolises competence and effortless style. There are 10 renditions of the Chronomat Automatic 36 powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, and seven versions of the Chronomat 32 with the SuperQuartz movement.

Breitling recently introduced the fashionable Chronomat Automatic 36 South Sea Capsule Collection featuring three eye-catching models in colours that evoke the intoxicating vibes of summer, marine life and lush greenery.

Launched on the occasion of Breitling's centenary in 1984, the Chronomat was originally designed to function in a jet cockpit and yet be stylishly worn with a suit.

Its name, combining chronograph and automatic, previously stood for Chronographe Mathematique, the 1940s ancestor of the Navitimer. A wrist-worn instrument for navigation and timing, the Navitimer was developed in 1952 for pilots to perform all necessary flight calculations.

Inspired by 1950s Breitling watches, the design of the Navitimer Automatic 35 features a sophisticated beaded bezel, an iconic circular slide rule and a clean three-hand dial.

Fashioned for the cosmopolitan, stylish woman on the go, variations include stainless-steel models with a choice of a blue, copper or silver dial; and a two-tone stainless-steel watch with a red gold rotating bezel and a white mother-of-pearl dial highlighted by diamond hour markers.

The interior design and bespoke furniture characterised by mid-20th-century industrial buildings flow seamlessly throughout the 82m² retail space.

The bar entrance, complete with the Breitling logo of a stylised "B" against a striking yellow mesh wall, offers an attractive display of its most exceptional watches.

Here, visitors can enjoy a drink or two to soak in the creatively conceptualised atmosphere that encapsulates air, land and sea -- the three environments related to its watches.

Since 1884, Breitling has established a global reputation for high-precision timepieces, its pioneering role in the development of the wrist chronograph, and its uncompromising commitment to design excellence.

The new boutique is home to the entire product range, such as the Avenger, Chronomat, Navitimer and Superocean, with around 130 timepieces displayed in an informal ambiance for a comfortable retail experience.
