Treat yourself to some of Cream's delectable treats

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Fluffy, light and not overly sweet pastries have been in high demand lately, and isn't that the way pastries are meant to be anyway? It isn't really enjoyable when you bite something and you immediately feel the sugar coursing through your veins or you chomp off a huge amount of bread that isn't at all tasty or well-baked. When done right, these pastries can be dangerously addictive, so it's only proper that I warn you about Cream, because what they're offering is something you'll want to devour over and over and over again.

Cream serves up what's known as Bomboloni doughnuts, a type of doughnut which originates from Italy and is sometimes also known as a "bomba" due to its explosive cream-filled centre. Their variety of flavours isn't too expansive but I didn't take that as a bad thing. A handful of flavours meant that they really made sure each of them would be top-notch so it doesn't matter which flavour you opt for: all of them are addictive and delicious.

One of the main things Cream got right is their dough, which is light and fluffy. The toppings and the cream fillings aren't overpowered by a dense and heavy pastry which makes all of their doughnuts a delight to devour. Their signature Vanilla donut (B69) with a very generous amount of vanilla wedged between the pillowy pastry is a great way to start-off. If you want something tangy, the Lemon meringue donut (B69) is the way to go or if you want that extra crunch and tad more sweetness, you can opt for the Salted caramel donut (B69) that's glazed with hardened sugar. But if you're like me and chocolate and richness is what you're after, look no further than the Dirty chocolate donut (B69) that's not just topped with chocolate powder and sauce but also filled with chocolate cream. If you want something simple, the Cinnamon donut (B49) has no cream-filling but the soft dough and the cinnamon sugar is enough to satisfy. They've also got special donuts like the fruity Passionfruit meringue donut (B85) for those that want a more tropical flavour and another favourite of mine, the Banoffee pie donut (B85), which gives a great combo of banana, cream and a hint of coffee.

Cream's light doughnuts are a great dessert that you can have to treat yourself especially during this third time of having to stay at home (they do have a physical location at Silom Road but it'd be best to save a visit after Miss Rona's done with her third lap). A little sweetness can alleviate the utter boredom of having to stay at home so you can order sets of three (B120 for cinnamon doughnuts, B190 for specials) or sets of six (B180 for cinnamon doughnuts, B350 for specials) from Cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.
