Garmin Thailand launches the #BeatTodayTogether Challenge so health-conscious people and athletes can enjoy their own customised workout routine at home and share their lifestyle on social media to build long-term goals together.

To motivate people, a group of four Garmin coaches is crafting fun activities like the "Beat The Road Challenge" for cyclists and runners on the Garmin Thailand Facebook page throughout the month, in which winners will receive special gifts from the Garmin Club.

"With competitively strong battery life and various health data, Garmin smartwatches can help people monitor continuous health trends including SpO2, heart rate, respiration rate, stress level and so on. Garmin believes people should understand self-health trends and changes throughout continuous and long-term pattern monitoring, rather than single and absolute values. Especially with the current pandemic, the continuous monitoring could provide a better insight into your health status and even help you notice changes in your health earlier," said Sky Chen, director of Garmin Thailand.

The Garmin smartwatches offer five vital indicators for health. SpO2 helps measure blood oxygen with pulse blood sensors, which are among the most reliable devices used for measuring blood oxygen saturation and most related to the respiratory tract and cardiovascular conditions.

Heart Rate is an effective indicator of one's physical condition and the Sleep Monitoring feature shows sleep quality detection to help improve sleeping habits and guides users to a stronger immune system. Respiratory Rate detection features can monitor how often you inhale and exhale in a minute. It is also a primary vital sign along with heart rate, blood pressure and body temperature. Resting respiration rates are typically between 12-20 times per minute during rest and can be around 40-50 times per minute during intense physical activity. This increase in respiration rate reflects the increased oxygen demand of producing aerobic energy.

During the ongoing pandemic, people might accumulate stress without knowing and this causes a negative impact on our body. The Stress Monitoring feature is key to physical and mental health.
