What kind of generosity can we see during a crisis? This is an inspiring question behind a photo contest organised by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

A collaboration with Thai PBS, National Geographic Thailand and Thai News Pix, this is an opportunity for interested residents of Thailand to send their best shots under the theme "Kindness During Crises" to vie for cash prizes worth 47,000 baht in total.
The contest is divided into two age groups -- below 25 years and 25 years and older. Entries must be digital photos taken using any kind of camera -- DSLR, mirrorless, compact or smartphone.
The judging panel will give their preference on pictures that portray a sense of humanity in whatever situations that can inspire people to lend a helping hand to others without conditions.
They can be photos of the underprivileged or affected people who receive assistance and support in times of a plague or natural disaster. The photos may also capture the moment people are rendering their kindness and compassion to each other during hard times.
Each contestant can submit up to five photos in JPG/JPEG format no more than 5MB in size. No watermarks, letters, photo credits and graphics are allowed on the images. Each photo must also come with a caption of no more than 100 words.
The top winner of each category will receive 10,000 baht while winners of the Popular Vote will be awarded 7,000 baht. Honourable mention awards are worth 3,000 and 3,500 baht. Around 200 entries that pass the selection round will be displayed in an open exhibition in Bangkok in December.
