To gear up for the upcoming holiday season, the fashion brand Disaya Vacationist has launched its new collection "Attitude Of Northeast", which aims to promote tourism in Khon Kaen by showcasing the charm of Isan culture and local wisdom.
Creative director Disaya "Aom" Sorakraikitikul recently collaborated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Leica Camera Thailand to host a launch party at the Columbo Craft Village, a popular attraction in Khon Kaen town. A group of celebrities and fashion influencers such as Ranida Techasit, Rathfar Chaichueanjit, Anothai Niruttimetee and Pimpatchara Vajrasevee came to share their experiences.
"Disaya Vacationist is a fashion brand that serves the needs of girls who love travelling and prefer to dress to represent their personalities. Focusing on Khon Kaen, the 'Attitude Of Northeast' collection takes inspiration from northeastern art and culture including mudmee weaving fabrics with krachiew flower and tabaek flower patterns as well as tourist attractions in Khon Kaen," Disaya said.
The brand introduces the delicacy of traditional ikat silk, which is Khon Kaen's renowned textile with remarkable weaving processes, as it continues to blend the joy of exploration with local artisans from various regions. This wonderful fabric inspires a pastel dress pattern that evokes a soft feminine sensibility, resulting in the ideal blend of regional characteristics and culture.
Inspired by the loincloth, it also embraces the simple checkered pattern to create a set of crop tops and pants. The northeastern weaving techniques are refined to the splendid embroidery to illustrate various tourist attractions such as Lai Theang Cave, which is located in the Phuphaman National Park, famous for parietal art.
