The "Ratchaprasong 8 Shrines Festival" will kick off tomorrow to introduce the world's first faith-based online platform that allows everyone to journey into a spiritual land of gods from anywhere and at anytime.

Held under the "Land Of Wisdom" theme by Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association in collaboration with the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau and Thai International Events & Festivals Trade Association, the festival will open a new experience of access to the Ratchaprasong district with virtual reality technology for the worship of gods around the clock.

Hailed as the country's economic hub and world-class tourist attraction renowned for its unique "eat-pray-stay-shop" lifestyle, Ratchaprasong is also a preferred destination for tourists seeking spiritual fulfilment to come and worship the Hindu deities at eight shrines that are located in the heart of Bangkok.

The shrines include Ganesh Shrine (God of Success) in front of CentralWorld, Trimurti Shrine (God of Love) in front of CentralWorld, Umathevi Shrine (Goddess of Compassion) in front of Big C Supercenter Rajdamri, Lakshmi Shrine (Goddess of Wealth and Fortune) on the 4th floor of Gaysorn Village, Jatulokbal Shrine (God of 4 Directions) on the 4th floor of Gaysorn Village, Erawan Shrine (God of Creation) beside Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, Indra Shrine (God of Thunder) in front of Amarin Plaza, and Narayana Shrine (God of Protection) in front of InterContinental Bangkok.

With the new innovation and technology, however, worshippers can virtually pay homage to the deities 24 hours a day via bkkdowntown.com/shrines-festival, which provides a 360-degree virtual space.

The festival will start tomorrow with an annual worship ceremony of the God of Creation, known among Thais as Thao Mahaprom, at the Erawan Shrine from 6am-8am. Expect to see a worship dance by actress Khemanit "Pancake" Jamikorn.

The event will be broadcast on Facebook: We Love Ratchaprasong. Devotees from around the world can participate to receive blessings via this channel.
