After the hugely successful hackathon held in March, Verso International School is hosting the second edition open to all high school students aged 13 to 18 in Thailand, from Jan 21-23.

"Verso Hack" is a guided hackathon where participants collaborate with their peers to gain fundamental tech skills and entrepreneurial mindsets and meet other aspiring student entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts.

Verso has once again partnered with Reactor School, Singapore's No.1 start-up school for student entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia, to ensure that "Verso Hack 2022" is built on-top of Southeast Asia's best hackathon model.

During the hackathon, students will be given a challenge or a business problem to work on and create either a new solution or technology to respond to that challenge within 48 hours.

The event involves workshops where students will learn about designing solutions, idea validation, prototyping and pitching -- same skills that the world's best entrepreneurs all have, and be mentored and coached by experts from the startup and tech community.

Among some of the confirmed judges and mentors are Amarit Charoenphan, innovation advisor of Verso; Apirak Kosayodhin, former Bangkok governor and chairman and CEO of V Foods (Thailand); Srihanath Lamsam, managing director of Purple Ventures (Robinhood); Pattanachat Preukwattanachai, senior brand manager of Yum!; Chataya Supapong, CEO of Food Passion (Bar B Q Plaza, Joom Zap Hut, Charna, Space Q and Red Sun); Suthasiny Sudprasert, co-founder of Happy Grocers; and Surasit Sachdev, CEO of Hungry Hub.

The hackathon will be held under Covid-19 guidelines and all participants must provide a negative antigen test with an antigen test kit before entering the campus. The registration deadline is Jan 7.

Tickets cost 4,500 baht (3,950 baht for early birds and 1,500 baht for Verso students and past participants) via verso.ac.th/hack. There is no admission fee for those who only want to watch but prior registrations are required.
