The Bar at The House on Sathorn will be the place to quench your thirst with three bartender takeovers from cocktail bars in Bangkok, Singapore and Taipei.
Neung Kanivichaporn of Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar
♦ On Dec 2, 7-11pm, Neung Kanivichaporn from Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar, Bangkok, will be pouring his cocktails, designed to leave an unexpected impression.
♦ On Dec 15, 7-11pm, Jeffrey Chang from AHA Saloon (No.24 on the Best Bar list), Taipei, Taiwan, will thrill you with bartending skills that are sure to be unforgettable. For one night only, The Bar at The House on Sathorn will be converted into Taiwan’s renowned music-themed bunker for local cocktail connoisseurs.

Playroom launches new cocktails inspired by movies
To welcome the upcoming festive season, Playroom, the speakeasy in Ekamai celebrates its second anniversary with the launch of “Playroom Chapter 3”, a new cocktails line-up inspired by nine famous movies. The new cocktails embody aspects of popular scenes from the movies, famous leading characters and the memorable story.
♦ Say hello to “Steve”, a bourbon and whiskey-based cocktail which takes inspiration from American Pie in which Steve’s mother has sex with his friend. Age is just a number, after all!
♦ The “Girl Next Door” is a gin-based cocktail inspired by What’s Your Number, a story about a woman who looks back at the 19 men she’s had relationships with and wonders if one of them might be her true love. We’ve all been there and done that!
♦ In 2022 no one cares if you’re a “Virgin or Not”, but a rum-base cocktail is definitely worth sipping on. Inspired by Wedding Crashers, a story about two guys who love crashing weddings to pick up women.
♦ “Let’s Do It” — get festive with a vodka cocktail inspired by 21 & Over where Jeff and his friends head out for drinks to celebrate his 21st birthday the night before a medical school interview. Ket us know if your night goes the same way as his!
♦ Get your “Game On” with tequila, inspired by Superbad. High school seniors Seth and Evan, hoping to have sex before college, try to score booze for a huge party, which leads to a series of wild misadventures.
♦ “White Lies” is another gin-base cocktail and is inspired by Brokeback Mountain, a story about two shepherds Ennis and Jack who develop a sexual and emotional relationship, in which it becomes even more complicated when both of them get married to their respective girlfriends.
♦ Don’t bite into but sip on the “Forbidden Fruit”, a bourbon cocktail inspired by the famous Thai movie Jan Dara. A Thai erotic-period drama where Jan’s grandmother finds out that Jan’s father got Jan’s aunt pregnant so she tries to shoot him only to have him retort: “That gun is old so come to play with my gun.”
♦ “Read My Lips” when I say the gin cocktail is inspired by The Girl Next Door where a high school senior thinks he has found the woman of his dreams in his new neighbour.
♦ You’ll be at Playroom drinking tequila “All Night”, inspired by Sex Tape, where the couple record one of their lovemaking sessions in an attempt to add some spice back into their married life.
