SK-II x White Rabbit 2023 New Year Limited Edition Design Pitera Essence.

Following its Christmas renditions in neon red and green, SK-II now welcomes the Year of the Rabbit with more playful packaging for the brand's iconic Pitera Essence.

Packaging of SK-II x White Rabbit 2023 New Year Limited Design Pitera Essence recalls the white, red and blue wrappers of creamy candies made by a Shanghai-based food company. Indeed, the label on the bottle and the paper box whimsically cautions: "This is not food. Keep out of reach of children."

The well-known sweet actually dates back to the 1940s and, after a rebranding, the bunny logo appeared in 1959.

The recipe includes whole milk powder, maltose and edible glutinous rice paper. In addition to the classic milky candy, new flavours such as chocolate, peanut and red bean have been launched over the years.

The White Rabbit candies are given as gifts during the Lunar New Year, and that's even more relevant in the year of the fourth Chinese zodiac animal, which begins on Sunday.

Accordingly, SK-II encourages hopping forward into the Year of the Rabbit with the latest limited-edition Pitera Essence. The lapin symbolises positivity and courage by taking a dauntless leap and acquiring new experiences.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence.

Also known as Facial Treatment Essence, the bestseller has remained unchanged since it was launched in Dec 1980.

In the 1970s, SK-II scientists by chance observed the wrinkled faces of senior sake brewers and their contrasting smooth youthful hands. The presumption was that the age-defying secret must lie in the yeast that the hands were in constant contact with during the sake fermentation process.

Following exhaustive research involving over 350 yeast strains, scientists detected a single yeast strain that was then isolated in a strictly controlled natural fermentation process to produce a clear liquid named Pitera.

Packed with over 50 micronutrients including vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids, Pitera resembles skin's natural moisturising factors. When the skin recognises it, SK-II's signature ingredient is absorbed to deliver nutrients that work together to transform the skin and impart a crystal-clear complexion.

The naturally derived ingredient is at the heart of every single SK-II product, and with a high concentration of over 90% in Pitera Essence.

The product's bottle is continually redesigned to celebrate the festive season, springtime and other occasions. Previous limited editions have featured the phoenix, floral motifs, street art, Mickey Mouse, as well as Tokyo girls wearing colourful kimonos.
