As Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, Omega has officially begun the countdown to Paris 2024.

Omega president and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann along with International Olympic Committee's president Thomas Bach and Paris 2024's president Tony Estanguet unveiled the Countdown Clock located at Port de la Bourdonnais, near the iconic beams of the Eiffel Tower.

Visible by day and illuminated at night, it is inspired by the Paris 2024 emblem with a central flame design surrounded by a golden circle.

The Countdown Clock tracks the hours, minutes and seconds until the opening ceremony on July 26 next year.

The previous Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 involved 530 timekeepers and on-site professionals as well as 900 trained volunteers and 400 tonnes of equipment.

Omega's new technologies and state-of-the-art equipment took timekeeping and real-time data measurement to new heights, and sports lovers witnessed the pandemic-postponed Summer Olympics held in 2021 in a brand new way.

Omega became the Official Timekeeper in 1932 at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Last year, Beijing 2022 marked 90 years in fulfilling this role while Paris 2024 will be Omega's 31st occasion in timing the world's foremost multi-sports event.

This is celebrated by the Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024 Special Edition designed in white, gold and black, following the official Olympic colour chart. The use of gold is a reminder of the coveted medal that athletes strive for.

The 42mm stainless steel case meets a bezel in 18-carat Moonshine Gold featuring a laser-structured diving scale in positive relief and a single dot of Super-LumiNova at 12 o'clock.

Omega's yellow gold alloy offers a more subtle hue as well as high-resistance to fading.

Hour markers are in diamond-polished Moonshine Gold with white Super-LumiNova while faceted hands, including central seconds hand with the Paris 2024 logo, are finished with a Moonshine Gold PVD treatment.

The stainless steel caseback reveals an inlayed Moonshine Gold medallion also with the logo, polished against a laser-ablated background. This is complemented by the stamped words "Paris 2024" and iconic Olympic Rings, which are mirror-polished on a frosted structure.

The laser-engraved white ceramic dial has been given a matte finish with polished waves in positive relief. On the date display at 6 o'clock, the Paris 2024 typography has been used to inscribe the numbers in black.

Omega's new patented Quick Change System allows swapping the stainless steel bracelet to a rubber strap or a Paris 2024 Nato strap designed in five colours inspired by the Olympic Rings or stripes that match the French flag.

The entire watch and its Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 passed tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology, guaranteeing the highest standards of precision, performance and magnetic resistance.

The Seamaster Diver 300M Paris 2024 Special Edition is for now available at Omega boutiques in the host city.

As a keepsake, it is delivered in a white box with Paris 2024 detailing that matches the Countdown Clock at Port de la Bourdonnais.
