Exhibition showcases essence of Asia

A group of renowned painters from five countries have joined hands to present the essence of Asia's artistic prowess during "A Bold Harmony", which is running at Tang Contemporary Art until Nov 30.

The exhibition brings a collection of figurative paintings that transcend geographical and temporal boundaries by six artists from different corners of Asia and influenced by various cultural and historical backgrounds. Their works merge into a beautiful symphony of vibrant and bold artistic expressions.

A canvas by Rafael Megall from Armenia may transport viewers to his visionary and intimate world, and the brushstrokes of Sophie-Yen Bretez from Vietnam reveal the stories of her dream-like surrealist figuration and depiction of her emotional states.

Pieces by Rai Julian from Indonesia resonate with the spirit of heartening tales and profound artistic poetry, while his fellow artist Uji Handoko Eko Saputro, known as Hahan, generates a sense of dynamism and whimsy in an upside-down world filled with humorous irony.

Using paintings as carriers of his thoughts, Taiwanese artist Chang Teng Yuan reconstructs and creates new visual images with the fusion of the East and West. Then, witness the work of Tiffany Lafuente from the Philippines that goes beyond in critiquing the global world, unearths further layers and exposes our voyeuristic fascination triggered by depictions of individuals.

The exhibition doesn't only offer a source of inspiration and but also reminds viewers of the power of art that connects us all in a harmonious blend of creativity and cultural understanding.

Tang Contemporary Art is located at Room 201-206 at River City Bangkok, Charoen Krung 24, and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
